I use this supplement frequently to add depth and narrative intrigue to the mists in multiple campaigns. ((I still haven't had a chance to use the one-shot yet, but I plan to at some point.)) But I think this is a must-have for domains of dread campaigns that plan to feature the mist in any fashion.. which.. is all of them?
The writing is amazing, it's that perfect amount of "short and sweet" needed to keep things moving but remain meaningful and interesting, and the effects aren't so over-the-top that it feels B-movie esque writing. It's subtle, easy to work with, and above all else, chillingly eerie.
For instance, I got the "tea party" encounter on the random encounters table... It's a very short sentance, and my party was so freaked out by it they have brought it up every session to just about every NPC they run into. It has been hilarious to watch, and has added a lot of things for me to work with.
