The flavor for this ancestry is absolutely incredible. The Ogre's darkness and menace has definitely been "translated into something more coherent, but still menacing" as the author states in a sidenote. Ogre cooks being held in high esteem (even moreso than Ogre Magi) is a bit of lightheartedness in an otherwise dismally, but excellently, portrayed ancestry.
The mechanics are very well balanced with what I feel is a unique early-level workaround for reach, with a feat that improves it later on at the cost of a reaction. The heritage and feats are all flavorful and dovetail into the lore perfectly.
My only big beef with any of the large ancestries is that I feel that reach is an overvalued mechanic that is too difficult to get consistently. But Paizo holds reach in high regard, so this isn't out of balance. I would still like to see a feat that just flat out gives you reach without the drawbacks, but this doesn't hold back the Ogres from a well-deserved 5 stars. In my humble opinion... well done.
