It Takes Class – Sage Wizard

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Sacrifice some of your spellcasting to turn your wizard into a truly potent skill user: a sage. Sages are incredibly knowledgeable individuals, valued for their knowledge, wisdom, and experience. More than other wizards, you gather and hoard knowledge and seek to find novel ways of applying conventional knowledge, seeking to push forward the boundaries of knowledge in whatever small ways you can.

In addition, you'll find nine new skill feats available to all classes that help you be the best at knowing things, including a large expansion of the criminally underused scholarly journal! Learn to make better use of scholarly journals, craft them with your own knowledge or that of another, memorize them to keep them always on-hand, and use them faster than any other.

Also included are four class feats designed specifically for the sage wizard, but that are available to classes as diverse as the psychic, magus, thaumaturge, and investigator!

Previews:

A screenshot of the level 2 skill feat Quick Reference. Traits: general and skill. Prerequisites: expert in at least one skill that can be used to Recall Knowledge. Flavor Text: You're adept at finding key information in a written work at a glance. Rules Text: You can gain the benefit of a scholarly journal after only one action, instead of 1 minute. If you are at least master in at least one skill that can be used to Recall Knowledge, you can Interact to draw or swap a journal into your hand as part of the action to ready the scholarly journal; if you're legendary, you can gain the benefit of a scholarly journal as a free action.

A screenshot of the level 1 skill feat Talk Shop. Traits: general and skill. Flavor Text: Even when you don't have people skills, sharing an area of expertise or interest with another person can endear you to them all the same. Rules Text: Choose one skill you’re trained in that can be used to Recall Knowledge. You can use that skill to Make an Impression or Request people whose expertise falls within that skill, as determined by the GM. For example, you could use Arcana with arcane casters and magic researchers, Medicine with doctors and medics, Academia Lore with students and teachers, or Religion for divine casters, especially devout worshipers, or theologians. Special You can take this feat multiple times, each time choosing a different skill you are trained in to gain the benefits with.

A screenshot of the level 8 class feat Thought Floodgates. Traits: bard, magus, psychic, sorcerer, witch, and wizard. Flavor Text: You keep a store of knowledge magically bound in a corner of your mind like a spring, ready to be released with a mere thought to hypercharge your thought process for a few crucial moments. Rules Text: You gain an additional spell slot of your highest spell rank which you can only use to cast hypercognition. Underneath is an image of a standing Tian man. He is holding a fountain pen in each hand, and a third pen between his teeth. His left hand also holds a book, and he is hunched over in concentration as he writes in it with the pen in his left hand. Across his shoulders is a mustelid of some type, likely a weasel or stoat, with an unusually long tail that runs down to one of his elbows.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
