Bringing the kasatha from Pathfinder 1e and Starfinder to Pathfinder 2e!
The kasatha are a four-armed ancestry that originated on a planet far from Golarion, and now roam the star-scarred plains of Numeria and the wider world. If you want to play a character who is a skilled survivor who has traveled unforgiving landscapes, a deadly four-armed warrior, or a mystic who draws power from the cosmos itself, you should play a kasatha.
The Kasatha ancestry includes 5 heritages, 30 ancestry feats (10 1st level, 8 5th level, 6 9th level, 4 13th level, and 2 17th level), and other options for kasatha characters: 3 weapons (including a 4-handed sword) and a Pathfinder 2e deity statblock for Talavet, the Storyteller.

Well this will be lengthy and I am going to be overly critical so lets start with an upfront opinion. Overall I like it, I feel like trying to break the normal mold of a humanoid is always fraught with potential balance issues, but given how the action economy of 2e works I cant think of too many situations where it would be broken, particularly with limits. And looking at this, overall id be pretty happy playing this and at least for the most part nothing here seems wildly unbalanced or anything, there are a couple outliers that could maybe use some tweaking, and a couple things that....unless I'm just not understanding, dont actually work.....like at all. So despite the fact I am about to nit pick just about every aspect, do know that I enjoyed reading through this little primer and approve of it overall....I am just very....technical with theorycrafting/character building. Also I will preface with I dont have a lot of pathfinder play experience, so my approach is merely as someone who has read up the rules...See more

Part 2 cause character limits and stuff:

9th level feats:1st feat: while there is probably some rule somewhere that says "if it doesnt specify what spell rank its the lowest".....it wouldnt hurt to explicitly call out what rank these get cast at.

2nd feat: idk if i would make this tied to the level 1 feat but.....this lets you acheive a pretty cool gunslinger fantasy with any martial class who wants to use guns i suppose.
3rd feat: i would maybe at least.....clarify how this is to interact with number of hands required for climbing etc. which actually makes me think you should clarify the baseline ancestry ability and its particular interactions with climbing given the weight limit you put on it. but the feat is fine just....maybe clarity? are just the secondary hands good enough for climbing with the speed and you can use primary hands unhindered?
4th feat: same criticism of the 1st level feat but otherwise. seems fine.
5th and 6th feats: ok......here...See more

Wow, thanks for putting so much time and thought into my stuff! I really do appreciate it, and I'm glad you liked it overall. Once Starfinder 2e is released and we get an official version of the Kasatha, I do plan on redesigning this to be more of an expansion of their options, and a guide to using the Kasatha in Pathfinder rather than Starfinder.
Some random musings on the design of the Kasatha you might find interesting: I'll admit that I think my biggest flaw here is unclear language, which is something I'm trying to improve on as I design more things. I scoured basically everything written about and every option for the Kasatha in Pathfinder & Starfinder, and tried to incorporate as much as I could, as well as references to the Solarian class (which was first developed by Kasatha) and Witchwyrds (who were the Kasathas ancestors), which is why there are a few feats that are a bit out of place. My reasoning with the constitution flaw was that they were from another, single-biome planet, and as a result...See more

I've been waiting for something like this! However, I feel like a lot of the ancestry feats are very specifically geared toward combat and some even seem to be more like class feats rather than just adding to the race. I might recommend switching that up and maybe making racial restricted archetypes/dedications instead where you can further expand on these specializations and replace these with other things.

Worth noting:
-Specific actions are always capitalized to show that they are specific actions. Not that this is a concern for things like four-armed flurry in the Fourfold Tactician 13th level feat description, but worth mentioning I'd say.
-Solar Armory is incredibly powerful for a level 1 ancestry feat or even an ancestry feat to begin with. It completely mitigates the gold expenditure for a set of armor or a weapon and does similar things to the Mind Smith and Soulforger dedications.
-Absorb Force feels a bit weird? I don't know much about Starfinder or Kasatha lore in it,...See more

Thanks for the feedback! Here's some notes on the feats you mentioned, if you're interested. (You're of course free to rebalance or change anything in the book however you like at your table.)
-Solar Armory is intended to be closer to 1st level ancestry feats that grant natural weapons and armor. Though it's certainly similar to Soulforger and Mind Smith thematically, they both have significant advantages over it. Looking back at it though, I realize the way I worded it can be easily interpreted as getting runes for free, which was not my intent. I'll go in and reword that. (I play with automatic bonus progression in my games)
-Absorb Force is an ability from witchwyrds, who are the ancestors of the kasatha in Starfinder lore. Given that it can only be used against one spell specifically, I don't think it's all that powerful. Compared to a brooch of shielding, it requires both a reaction and free hands.
-At 1st level, Surprise Arms has to be used with one or both of your primary arms. At higher...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
