Adventures in Jalmeray
4th-level Impossible Lands adventures
from an all-Desi design team!

Venture to the island of Jalmeray where an adventuring party has unleashed an ancient curse that threatens to consume a city. The streets of Prada Hanam run with blood as scheming nobles and desperate merchants clash, while in the shadows a rakshasa with delusions of godhood schemes to reshape society in his image.

This product features three adventures for four 4th-level characters:
  • Feeding the Dead The party is summoned to the estate of Prada Hanam's zamindar and asked to investigate a mysterious murder, one in which the body has been sucked dry. A tragic tale unfolds as the party draws closer and closer to the killer.
  • Gabbari Explore the inequities of a caste-based society in which a bandit murders innocent merchants and gives away their wealth to help the poor. Is he a villain, an agent of justice, or something in between? The party must wade through political intrigue and a dangerous jungle to discover the truth before social tensions rip their society apart.
  • Snakes at the Swayamvara Nothing says fun like a big Desi wedding! Yami Kiājan is an ambitious woman who planned to attempt the entrance trials for the Monastery of Unfolding Wind, but she's suddenly decided to announce a Swayamvara instead—a series of challenges in which nobles compete for her hand in marriage. What caused her to give up her dream? And can you help her childhood sweetheart unearth the truth and maybe win the Swayamvara along the way?

CREATOR
There is only one map in this product but a player-friendly gridded version is provided at a 300 pixel to 1 inch scale in JPG format. All custom art that we own from the product is also provided separately so they can be shown to players as "handouts."

This looks amazing! How long is each adventure expected to last - are they intended to be one-shots?

PURCHASER
Hi there, this is Chirag Asnani one of the writers for Adventures in Jalmeray. I can't speak specifically for the others, but I feel for mine specifically, each chapter is about a session. Snakes at the Swayamvara has 4 chapters, so I'd see it as 4 sessions. Maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less, depending on each individual group.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
