End of Days #4 - The Secrets of Nightwater Swamp

THE SECRETS OF NIGHTWATER SWAMP

The click of paddle steamers pistons slowed as Thumagin throttled down the vessel.  Ahead a twisted maze of trees greated him.  Felina, on bow watch called off the depth five feet,...six feet, now three!!  The sorcerer was watching for a glimpse of the old stone road that would lead them through the treacherous Nightwaters.  Sometimes she could glimpse parts of it beneath the muck - and other times she could spot things that may have once been along it - an old roof, a line of dead trees that might once have been an orchard, or even an old lamp post.

Truth be told, the swamp unnerved the sorceress, and the dwarf.  From the fist-sized spiders that spun their webs along the bank, to the footlong gray worms, cadaverous looking birds, and enormous hairy flies that came out in the morning....The would both be glad, when...and if..the party finally reached the Echo Wood.
