Written by Alexander Augunas

You've learned all about the crafty foxfolk of Golarion in Kitsune of Golarion, now learn about one of their most treasured abilities. Kitsune of Golarion: Foxfire Adepts is an expansion of the character flavor and options introduced in Kitsune of Golarion penned by one of its original authors, only this time focusing on the famed foxfire of this ancestral group. The following is just some of the content you'll find within Kitsune of Golarion:

  • Brand-new magic items designed to allow kitsune communities to pass down their ancestors' flames across generations. Or blackmail each other by swiping their foxfire, whatever works!
  • A new weapon property rune that allows kitsune to use their foxfire while assuming alternate forms.
  • A massive new archetype, the Foxfire Adept, that's basically a new class in and of itself. Possessing 4 pages of content, this archetype includes feats for every level, 2 through 20.
  • Nine focus spells that allow kitsune to produce fantastic effects by spending Focus Points in the form of their personal spiritual energy.
  • And much more!

a question about the feat foxfire artilerist on page 6.

It say's that your attacks with the weapon count as a foxfire unarmed strike for all effects but has the weapon's traits.

Does that mean that if I use this on an arquibus for example, the damage dice lowers to a d4 and it only has 20ft range but I still gain the traits (concussive, fatal d12 and kickback) of the weapon

or do I still use the range, damage and traits of the weapons, But now I can use feats like foxfire spellstrike and the nine aura's stance applies to the shot?

Wasn't completely sure myself and thought I'd drop by to look for clarification because a player is thinking about taking it, but the way it's written I'm inclined to think you use the weapon's statistics since the foxfire is explicitly turned into ammunition. If ammunition doesn't clearly state whether something is changed it's not, implications don't matter. I think the part about gaining the weapon's traits is to clarify that regardless of other effects your foxfire might have it doesn't override the weapon's traits? And hopefully that it doesn't actually have the unarmed trait because a gun loaded with foxfire ammo should absolutely be possible to disarm and shouldn't count as a free-hand weapon all of a sudden. That part should just be for being able to qualify for effects... though again, probably shouldn't be able to make it qualify for a bonus from handwraps of mighty blows because it should be the weapon you're firing that needs the runes. Hm.

I might need to rewrite it before I allow it...See more

Interesting. The original intent is that you're making a foxfire unarmed attack (including the damage) but you're replacing the foxfire unarmed attack's traits with those of the weapon you're shooting it out of. I intended for that to include range, but it definitely doesn't as written. And yes, you could apply feats that require foxfire unarmed Strikes like the two you mentioned to the gunshot.

Autumn is probably right in that it needs a tighter description.

Hello, on page 4 the lvl4 and lvl6 Foxfire Lanterns are both named "Cloaked Foxfire Lantern". Is this a mistake?

Yes! The Level 4 one should be called a veiled lantern.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
